I'm back...

It's been almost one month since my last post and I feel like it was just yesterday that we found out that Baby Spence is a boy!

A week after found out, we headed down to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Campbell had his daily countdown and couldn't wait to get on the plane to go to "Margi Gras" - yes - Margi - that's how he pronounces it! We arrived late that Friday night and sweet Marion was waiting for us at the airport. Campbell crashed in the car on the way to Kiki and Tater's house but as soon as he saw Kiki, he was wide awake!

Saturday, we got up and headed to the parades. Campbell couldn't wait to get into one of the ladders. He waved, cheered, yelled, and caught TONS of beads and toys. He was especially fond of the marching bands. This video captures exactly what he'd do when he saw or heard a band...

Saturday night, we got all dressed up (except for Campbell) and heading to the Mystic Club Ball. Had a great evening with my whole family, but sure did miss having my cocktail! On Sunday...back to the parades! We loved watching them with my childhood friend, Kelley, and her little girl Marigny.

Monday (during the day), was an off day. We just relaxed and let Campbell catch up on some much needed rest. We got everything together and headed over to my Aunt Sid's house to watch Proteus. Campbell loved the parade so much last year that we just knew that he need to go again this year. It's the only night parade we bring him to. Sid and Norwood had an incredible spot on St. Charles with about 6 ladders and a table full of food. Jason found a street vendor selling toy horn and Campbell just had to have it! Everytime a marching band would come by, Campbell would put the horn to his mouth to play along!

Tuesday morning, we woke up and Jason and Jim went to ride in REX. Campbell was SUPER excited to see Daddy riding on a float. He especially loved all of the awesome toys that Jason threw to him.

Jason left EARLY Wednesday morning and we stayed the remainder of the week. THANK GOD! I know I needed the rest and relaxation and Campbell REALLY needed some time with Kiki and Tater.

It was a FABULOUS trip to New Orleans and so much fun to watch Mardi Gras with a two year old who loves it as much as we do. We look forward to many more fun Mardi Gras trips and next year will be even more fun with Baby Boy Spence along for the ride.

There A LOT of pictures on our Picasaweb Album #2 - link on the upper left. Enjoy!

18 Weeks

It's amazing how much I've grown in two weeks. I am hoping to post a new picture every two weeks with the previous photo attached - for comparison! It will be fun to see how I grow.

16 Weeks 18 Weeks

It's been a while...

since my last post. In fact, it's been three weeks. My apologies for the delay but things have been a little crazy around here. Since my last post, I've taken two sewing classes and made a tote bag and a pair of pajamas! It was "sew" much fun, ha...get it? We've also tackled our kitchen renovation. The cabinets are in and the granite is installed on Tuesday. By Wednesday, we will be done. That is except for the painting, which will be done after we return from Mardi Gras.

We have also been blessed to have a fabulous week of warm weather. It got up into the high 60's yesterday. We've loved returning to the great outdoors for some fun!

Tomorrow is the big day for our ultrasound. We are so excited to see Baby Spence and to find out if it is a "he" or a "she!"

Lastly, Campbell is in his 1 week countdown for Mardi Gras. It is a daily discussion about getting on the airplane and going to Mardi Gras, specifically Kiki and Tater's house. I am so excited to spend the whole week down there, especially since it will be my last time down there before Baby Spence arrives.

Stay tuned for the big news and have a great day!

Ski Trip 2009!

On Friday afternoon, we picked up Campbell and headed out of town to Wisp Ski Resort in western MD. The Price family joined us for a long weekend - to avoid the Inaugural madness. We arrived around 6:30 to a great townhouse with snow everywhere! The Prices were not far behind. Once they arrived, we headed out to grab pizza for the kids.

On Saturday, the dads ventured out to ski their first runs in the morning. They had a great time and Jeff mastered skiing for the first time!

On Sunday, the dads took the day off from skiing and we all piled in the suburban and went to Herrington Manor National Park to go sledding. For $3 per sled...we couldn't have asked for anymore fun! The kids were screaming with delight as we went down the hill! Campbell loved watching Jason make a snowman and even learning how to make snow angels! His favorite part of the entire trip was eating "ice" (snow). He thought it was so yummy! I wasn't too wild about the taste!

Sunday afternoon, the dads took care of naptime and Mere and ventured out to the fudge and sweet shop in town. We loaded up on some delicious treats. I think I ate most of them all by myself - but it was for the baby of course! That seems to be my excuse for everything I eat lately.

Monday, the dads hit the slopes all day. We took it easy and let the kids play outside in the 2 feet high snow by the house. You could tell we were nearing the end of the trip as we had some fussy little ones. We ended the day with meeting up with the dads and going on a mountain roller coaster (the Prices did that with Ella - their 4 year old), and going tubing. They had a kiddie slope for Campbell and Maddie. They had so much fun going down in the tube and poor things wanted so badly to go on the roller coaster. Next year they'll be old enough and maybe even old enough for ski school!

Tuesday morning, we packed up and headed home. It was a fabulous weekend filled with LOTS of laughter and fun.

Be sure to check out all of the pictures on the link to the left(Picasa 2). I have had to start a new picasa album - so click on the newer one.

On another note...went to the doctor last week and all is great with Baby #2! Had a good heartbeat. We will have our first ultrasound on February 13th and will find out what sex the baby is! Stay tuned for the news!

Pajama Day At School

Today is Pajama Day at school. All children were asked to wear their pj's to school and they are having a pancake breakfast for lunch! I have to say it was nice not having to make Campbell's lunch today OR think about what he would wear. Don't worry, I didn't send him to school in the pj's that he slept in. Instead, he wore his BUG pj's! It was so fun seeing all of the kiddos coming into school in their snuggly pajamas. Campbell was pretty excited about having pancakes for lunch - it sure beats his jelly sandwich and cheese stick that he gets everyday!

Happy New Year!

2009 is here and I can hardly believe it! We rang in the new year at the Krueger's house with 4 other couples. We were the only ones with child in tow but thankfully Campbell is such a great sleeper we just put him upstairs in his pack-n-play and he slept thru all of the festivities. It was a fun night with a fabulous menu of fine cheeses to begin with, followed by pork, macaroni and cheese, goat cheese potatos au gratin, green beans, and a salad! YUMMMMY! It was perfect for my many cravings. I think Baby Spence was on food overload by the end of the meal. I guess I'm taking the "eating for two" a little too seriously! Now that the holidays are over, I need to start watching it because my doctor is a stickler about the weight. UGH!!!

On New Year's Day we went to the Shattls house (right around the corner) for their New Year's open house. They had tons of great food (just great given my needing to watch how much I eat). Campbell enjoyed playing with Sophia and telling everyone Happy New Year!

It's been a nice weekend (playing at the neighborhood playground) and hanging around the house with awesome fires going. We are gearing up for school to start back this week. I am looking forward to Campbell going back to school and I think he is too. I think he's getting a little bored with me. He's very excited to tell Ms. Jeanine and Ms. Hula (his teachers) that he's going to be a big brother. He keeps "Campbell big brother" and then says "tell Jeanine and Hula that." He's also learned to be gentle with Mommy's belly because the baby is in there. I'm sure he'll be quite surprised when my belly begins to get bigger.

Campbell will also start his JW Tumbles class on Wednesday. He'll do this every Wednesday for 2 months. It's an in-door play room where the instructors work with the kids on different things. He did it last winter and it's a great activity during the cold winter months.

On January 16th, we will be heading with the Price family to Wisp Ski Resort in western Maryland. It's the weekend prior to Obama's inauguration and we decided to get away from the madness and enjoy a fun weekend. Jason and Jeff are planning on doing the skiing while Meredith and I play with the kids and maybe even hit the spa while the guys takeover with the kiddos for a while!

In February, we will get ready to head to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Campbell is very excited and can't wait to see Jason ride on the float.
Lots of fun ahead! Stay tuned for updates and pictures and remember to check our picasaweb album - link to the left - often. Pictures are updated there very often.
Again, Happy New Year!
