It's been WAY TOO LONG...

I know, I know...it's been almost 2 months since my last post. My apologies. It's been a little crazy lately. Our minds are quite preoccupied with the baby arriving in 7 weeks and all of the things that need to be done. This weekend was a HUGE weekend in the Spence household. Campbell moved into his big boy bed on Friday. I was quite emotional when Jason finished putting the bed together and Campbell climbed right into it. My little baby is a big boy and proud of it! We've been talking about him moving into the new bed for a while, so he was really excited when we actually started taking apart his crib after his nap on Friday. He was a big "helper" with moving everything into baby brother's room. We (really, Jason) put the finishing touches on the room yesterday with a new bookcase and 9 cube stand for all of Campbell's toys. We are waiting for his chair to come back from being upholstered and then it will be totally complete! Here's a sneak at C right after we put the bed together...

It's hard to write everything we've done in the last two months. I'll see if my "pregnesia" will go away briefly so I can remember!

Jim, Marion, and Ana came up here for Easter. We had a fabulous time and of course, Campbell and Ana were their usual hysterical selves! We went to Charlottesville that Saturday of Easter weekend to see Jason's family and had friends over on Sunday. We were sad to see J, M, and A leave on Monday :(.

The following weekend, mom came to visit. Kiki arrived on Friday to help me with Campbell while Jason went to his fraternity's 150th Anniversary in Charlottesville. She certainly had her work cut out with Campbell. She had to take him to soccer that Saturday while I ventured to Richmond for Sarah P's baby shower. Campbell had a blast with Kiki!

Then it was home for a few weeks - having a not so great time with constant rain and chilly weather. We were very happy to see it finally leave and to welcome the warm weather. Jason was a trooper and planted tons of plants and flowers in the yard for me. It looks beautiful and I'm SO appreciative. Campbell even helped him do some digging and planting!

We then ventured down to New Orleans on the 14th to see Dad receive the outstanding alumnus award from Tulane for his 50th reunion. We are all so proud of him and couldn't think of anyone else who deserved it more! Campbell was beyond excited to get on the plane and go see Kiki and Tater. They have certainly hung the moon in his eyes! It's so much fun watching my parents with Campbell. Mom plays a great game of hide and seek in the kitchen and Dad loves to do crazy animal noises. On our trip, Campbell got to play with his best friend and cousin, Ana. They truly love one another and it makes us so happy to see them together. He also got to help Mike wash Gus, his dog. On Sunday, we took Campbell to Cafe du Monde for his first taste of beignets. I know...he's 2 1/2 and just having them for the first time. What is wrong with us? Well, he LOVED them and believe it or not, barely got any powdered sugar on his face and clothes.

We got back from New Orleans last Monday and Campbell had his last day of school on Tuesday. They sent him a wonderful photo album of his year at school along with a great rendition of Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Of course, I cried when I looked at them!
The remainder of the week, Campbell and I ventured out each morning to run our marathon of errands - all to get ready for the big bedroom makeover. He was such a trooper and never complained about going to "one more store." He even started asking me if we need to go to "one more store."
After the bed change on Friday, we went to soccer on Saturday morning, then hit the pool for the first time of the season! Campbell loved being in the kiddie pool and eating lunch with favorite friend, Keating. It was home again for a long nap and peaceful evening.

On Sunday, we participated in our neighborhood "Wheel Day" - where everyone decorates anything they own with wheels in some sort of theme. We chose to decorate C's bike in a patriotic theme. We didn't win, but definitely should have!

So now, we're up to today! Campbell started "summer camp" at his school. It's every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday until June 18th. It couldn't have come at a better time. It gives me a chance to get things done around the house and to also get a little rest before the craziness happens in July.
I will be 33 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I know...I've not posted a picture in a long time. So here goes!

Baby Spence is due July 15th, but we are hoping that he is big enough for me to be induced in early July! You know me, the planner...it would be perfect if I could have a set date in mind and especially helpful so Mom and Dad can be here to help me with Campbell while we're at the hospital. We'll know on June 17th if an early induction is a possibility. So keep your fingers crossed. I'll keep you posted!
There are TONS of new pictures on the picasaweb link in the upper left corner. Be sure to check them out - remember it's the Album 2.
Have a great day!
